Apple Crumble Pie

Classic Swedish apple crumble with a buttery oat topping. Serve warm with vanilla sauce or ice cream for a perfect dessert.

Ingredients

  • 4 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 0.5 dl sugar
  • 150 g cold butter
  • 2 dl all-purpose flour
  • 1 dl sugar (for crumble)
  • 1 dl rolled oats
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar

Method

  1. 1Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. 2Peel and slice the apples. Toss with cinnamon and sugar and place in an ovenproof dish.
  3. 3Make the crumble: rub cold butter into flour, sugar, oats and vanilla sugar until crumbly.
  4. 4Spread the crumble evenly over the apples.
  5. 5Bake for 30–35 minutes until the crumble is golden and the apples are soft.
  6. 6Serve warm with vanilla sauce, cream or vanilla ice cream.
