Rice Pudding

A traditional Swedish rice porridge, often served at Christmas but delicious year-round. Top with cinnamon and sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 dl porridge rice
  • 3 dl water
  • 7-8 dl milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter

Method

  1. 1Bring water, rice, and salt to a boil. Simmer under lid for 10 minutes.
  2. 2Add milk, butter, and cinnamon stick. Bring back to a simmer.
  3. 3Let the porridge swell on very low heat for 30-40 minutes without stirring.
  4. 4Serve with extra milk, cinnamon, and sugar.
