Rich and fudgy brownies with dark chocolate and butter. Classic American brownies with intense chocolate flavour and a dense, fudgy texture.

Ingredients

  • 200 g dark chocolate (70%)
  • 150 g butter
  • 2 dl sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1.5 dl all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 100 g walnuts, chopped (optional)

Method

  1. 1Preheat oven to 175°C. Line a 20x20 cm tin with baking parchment.
  2. 2Melt chocolate and butter in a bain-marie or microwave. Cool slightly.
  3. 3Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla sugar.
  4. 4Fold in flour, salt and optional walnuts. Stir only until just combined.
  5. 5Pour into the tin and bake for 22–25 minutes. The centre should still be slightly wobbly.
  6. 6Cool completely in the tin before cutting into squares.
