A delicious Greek savory pastry made with layers of crispy phyllo dough and a rich filling of spinach and feta cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 package phyllo dough
  • 500 g fresh spinach, chopped
  • 250 g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 bunch scallions, chopped
  • Fresh dill, chopped
  • Melted butter or olive oil for brushing

Method

  1. 1Sauté scallions and spinach until wilted. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
  2. 2In a bowl, mix spinach, feta, eggs, and dill.
  3. 3Brush a baking dish with oil. Layer half of the phyllo sheets, brushing each with oil.
  4. 4Spread the spinach mixture over the phyllo.
  5. 5Top with remaining phyllo sheets, brushing each with oil.
  6. 6Score the top layers and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 35-45 minutes until golden and crispy.
