The quintessential Swedish side dish. Thinly sliced cucumbers marinated in a sweet and sour pickling liquid with dill.

Ingredients

  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 tbsp vinegar (12%)
  • 1 dl water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • Fresh dill, chopped

Method

  1. 1Slice the cucumber very thinly.
  2. 2Mix vinegar, water, sugar, and salt until sugar dissolves.
  3. 3Add cucumber and dill to the liquid.
  4. 4Place a weight on top and let marinate for at least 1 hour.
  5. 5Serve chilled.
