Make your own sushi at home! Maki rolls are perfect to fill with salmon, cucumber, and avocado for a fun and fancy dinner.
Ingredients
- 3 dl sushi rice
- 4 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 nori sheets (seaweed)
- 200 g fresh salmon (sushi grade)
- 0.5 cucumber, julienned
- 1 avocado, sliced
- Soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi for serving
Method
- 1Rinse sushi rice thoroughly until water runs clear. Cook according to package instructions.
- 2Warm rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until sugar dissolves. Pour over the warm rice and stir gently. Let cool to room temperature.
- 3Place a nori sheet on a bamboo mat, shiny side down.
- 4Spread a thin layer of rice over the nori, leaving about 2 cm at the top.
- 5Place salmon, cucumber, and avocado in a line across the center of the rice.
- 6Roll the sushi tightly using the mat. Dampen the top edge of the nori to seal the roll.
- 7Slice into 8 pieces using a sharp, damp knife.
- 8Serve with soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi.
