Make your own sushi at home! Maki rolls are perfect to fill with salmon, cucumber, and avocado for a fun and fancy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 3 dl sushi rice
  • 4 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 nori sheets (seaweed)
  • 200 g fresh salmon (sushi grade)
  • 0.5 cucumber, julienned
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi for serving

Method

  1. 1Rinse sushi rice thoroughly until water runs clear. Cook according to package instructions.
  2. 2Warm rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until sugar dissolves. Pour over the warm rice and stir gently. Let cool to room temperature.
  3. 3Place a nori sheet on a bamboo mat, shiny side down.
  4. 4Spread a thin layer of rice over the nori, leaving about 2 cm at the top.
  5. 5Place salmon, cucumber, and avocado in a line across the center of the rice.
  6. 6Roll the sushi tightly using the mat. Dampen the top edge of the nori to seal the roll.
  7. 7Slice into 8 pieces using a sharp, damp knife.
  8. 8Serve with soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi.
