Classic Norwegian fish cakes made from minced cod with potato starch, milk and onion. Pan-fried golden and served with boiled potatoes and remoulade sauce.

Ingredients

  • 500 g cod fillets, minced
  • 2 tbsp potato starch
  • 100 ml milk or cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 onion, grated
  • Salt and white pepper
  • Butter or oil for frying

Method

    Process fish, potato starch, milk, egg, grated onion, salt and pepper until smooth.

    Shape into patties with wet hands.

    Fry in butter or oil over medium heat until golden and cooked through, about 3 minutes per side.

    Serve with boiled potatoes and remoulade sauce.
