Classic stuffed peppers with ground beef, rice, and melted cheese. A satisfying and colorful meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 large bell peppers (red, yellow, or green)
  • 400 g ground beef
  • 1 dl uncooked rice (e.g., long-grain)
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, pressed
  • 400 g crushed tomatoes
  • 1 msk tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1.5 dl shredded cheese

Method

  1. 1Cook the rice according to package instructions.
  2. 2Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Cut the tops off the peppers and remove the seeds.
  3. 3Sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add ground beef and brown until cooked through.
  4. 4Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, pepper, and the cooked rice. Let it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. 5Fill the peppers with the meat and rice mixture and place them in a baking dish.
  6. 6Sprinkle cheese on top. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until the peppers are soft and the cheese is golden.
  7. 7Serve as is or with a fresh salad.
