Crispy and delicious Swedish oat cookies with butter and golden syrup. A classic fika favourite that is easy to bake and quick to make.
Ingredients
- 150 g butter
- 1.5 dl sugar
- 1 dl golden syrup
- 3 dl rolled oats
- 1.5 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
Method
- 1Preheat oven to 175°C. Line baking trays with parchment paper.
- 2Melt butter, sugar and syrup in a saucepan. Stir and leave to cool slightly.
- 3Mix oats, flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar. Stir into the butter mixture.
- 4Roll into balls and place on the tray with plenty of space (they spread out).
- 5Bake for 8–10 minutes until golden. Leave to cool on the tray – they firm up as they cool.
