Juicy pulled pork slow-cooked in the oven with a smoky dry rub and BBQ sauce. Perfect in burgers, tacos or served alongside coleslaw.
Ingredients
- 1.5 kg pork shoulder
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 dl BBQ sauce
Method
- 1Mix all the spices and brown sugar into a dry rub.
- 2Coat the pork shoulder thoroughly with the spice mix on all sides. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- 3Preheat oven to 150°C.
- 4Place the meat in a roasting tin and cover tightly with foil.
- 5Cook in the oven for 5–6 hours until the meat is very tender and pulls apart easily with a fork.
- 6Remove the meat and let it rest for 15 minutes. Pull apart with two forks.
- 7Mix the shredded meat with BBQ sauce and serve in burger buns with coleslaw.
