Swedish Waffles

Classic Swedish waffles with crispy edges and a soft interior. Serve with jam and whipped cream or just a dusting of icing sugar.

Ingredients

  • 3 dl all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 dl milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g melted butter
  • Butter for the waffle iron

Method

  1. 1Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
  2. 2Whisk in the milk and eggs a little at a time until a smooth batter forms.
  3. 3Stir in the melted butter.
  4. 4Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.
  5. 5Heat a waffle iron and brush with butter.
  6. 6Pour in the right amount of batter and cook until the waffles are golden brown and release easily.
  7. 7Serve immediately with jam, whipped cream or icing sugar.
