Ingredients

  • 150 g butter
  • 1 dl caster sugar
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 3 dl all-purpose flour

  1. 1Preheat oven to 175°C. Line baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. 2Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the sugar and syrup and stir. Leave to cool to room temperature.
  3. 3Mix flour, vanilla sugar and baking powder. Stir into the butter mixture and bring together into a dough.
  4. 4Roll the dough into a long log and cut into about 40 pieces, or roll into balls.
  5. 5Place the balls on the trays with plenty of space between them. Press flat gently with a fork.
  6. 6Bake for 8–10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. 7Leave to cool on the tray – the cookies harden as they cool.
