Basic 1:1 simple syrup perfect for cocktails, lemonades and desserts. Keeps in the fridge for several weeks.

Ingredients

  • 2 dl caster sugar
  • 2 dl water
  • 1 pinch salt (optional, balances sweetness)

    Pour sugar and water into a small saucepan.

    Heat over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar has completely dissolved. Do not boil.

    Leave to cool, then pour into a glass bottle or jar with a lid. Store in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.
